Tell us a bit about yourself and your role at OPEN Hairdressing
I started hairdressing almost as soon as I came out of school as my mum noticed an artistic streak in me. I’ve been hairdressing for over eight years now and I originally trained with Toni and Guy. I left to go travelling and it was in Australia that I continued my hairdressing career and built a clientele.
What do you think makes OPEN Hairdressing different to other salons?
I came across OPEN on Instagram. Straight away I thought “wow – it would be so cool to work there!”. I love OPEN’s wide ranging clientele and the team treats each other like family. OPEN offers such a wide-range of styles plus more out-going looks. So, if you want a classic bob or crazy colours – OPEN has it all. The salon feels like London in the beautiful town of Harpenden.
What can clients except when they have an appointment with you?
I love to listen to each of my client’s needs and understand what has to happen from beginning to end of the appointment. It’s vital because home care is just as important as a client having their hair done in the salon. I will always make sure that you leave with a bounce in your step and feeling like a new person. You will never see me not smiling and I hope to do the same for my clients!
What do you enjoy about your role at OPEN Hairdressing?
Above all, I enjoy seeing my clients leave happy and confident. I’ve worked backstage at London Fashion Week, beauty pageants and wedding shows. I’m always up for a challenge and being under the spotlight. I also love taking photos of my work so you might become part of a photo shoot!
However, after having seen OPEN’s professional look on social media and hearing about it through word of mouth, it just drew me in! I love how close the team members are with one another and in the salon and there’s always chilled out tunes playing in the salon. You just get the most warm welcome as you step through the front door. And being a team is the main thing that makes OPEN a great place to visit and work.

I’m at OPEN Hairdressing Harpenden almost all week but I can be flexible with appointment times.
