Tell us a bit about yourself and your role at OPEN Hairdressing
I’ve been interested in hairdressing since the age of five. I wasn’t influenced by anyone, I was just fascinated by hair. I remember from a young age; my Mum’s friends would let me ‘play hairdresser’ by using them as models (my tools were a bag of flower clips and scrunchies!). Finally, I started my hairdressing career when I was sixteen years old. I trained at the Vidal Sassoon Academy for three years before coming to work at OPEN Hairdressing.
What do you think makes OPEN Hairdressing different to other salons?
I think OPEN provides a very different vibe to other hairdressers in Hertfordshire. I like to make my client’s experience comfortable and personal. On the other hand, a client’s hair makes them who they are, so I believe you need to know the person first in order to know their hair.
What can clients expect when they have an appointment with you?
I pride myself on listening to the client’s views on their hair and giving them reliable feedback. For example, if a new client comes to the salon for colour, I always like them to come in for a free consultation. And that’s just one of many reasons why we want people to visit us!
Above all, a consultation enables me to have a thorough understanding of what the client wants. We’d discuss what they like and dislike about their hair – and then together, we can make a plan and I can give them their dream result.
What do you enjoy most about your role at OPEN Hairdressing?
I love working with other people. I’ve always been a more practical and interactive learner, so hairdressing was the perfect option for me. In addition, I get on so well with everyone at OPEN. They are such a great team and for me, they’re even greater friends.
Where can clients find you?
You can find me at our OPEN Hairdressing Berkhamsted salon from late weekends to midweek. I’d suggest clients book an appointment with me well in advance as places fill up quickly. In the meantime, everyone is welcome to check out OPEN via our social media channels on Instagram and Facebook.
