3 Things to Do When You Visit Harpenden’s Fun Street Food Social

Consider your dinnertime sorted with Harpenden’s Street Food Social on Saturday 13th July 2019, 4-9pm!

From street food vans to humble gazebos, expect to encounter a variety of delicious food and drink stations. Local producers will be delighting crowds with their wares, inspired by traditions from around the world and those closer to home. And it’s only a quick walk down the road from OPEN Hairdressing Harpenden.

There will also be a licensed bar serving up local brewed ciders, beer and chilled prosecco. A DJ will be on site with a playlist to keep everyone moving and relaxed. Street food catering never looked and smelled so good!

So, any advice to bare in mind for the event?

Get there early

Always plan to get to (and from!) a market in good time as crowds can build up quicker than you’d expect. This mindset comes in handy if there is any disruption to your journey – whether it be by road, bus, train or maybe on foot.

Tastings, tastings, tastings!

What could be better than free samples to test your taste buds?

Food tastings are a great opportunity for businesses and to engage and connect with new clientele. So, go and see for yourself what’s on offer. Allow yourself to be curious and be surprised. And obviously, if there are any food allergies to take into consideration, then always ask beforehand if it’s safe to indulge.

Talk to stall holders

Striking up a friendly conversation with the bearded craft ale seller? Chatting to the lady who makes THE best brownies? This isn’t always something that comes to us naturally. On the other hand, people today are becoming increasingly conscious of how food is made and where it comes from – so don’t be afraid to get talking!
