Bumble and bumble x OPEN Education: See Behind the Scenes of Our Exclusive Workshop

It’s not often that OPEN Hairdressing apprentices get the chance to learn about hair products directly from the experts. However, at OPEN Hairdressing Hemel Hempstead, this changed as we hosted another demonstration as part of OPEN Education. This time, we welcomed Bb Trainer and Hairstylist Collette McGee and Bumble’s National Sales & Education Executive Orly Abergel. Together, they provided an deep insight into a brand and product line that can only be found in sixty salons across the UK…including us!

Collette during the workshop

Firstly, this awesome duo started the workshop with a product knowledge discussion that invited all members of the team to find out as much as possible about this world-renowned, cruelty-free hair brand. While members of the team listened intently, there was a real focus on Bumble’s vision to equip stylists with hair styling products that were easy to use in everyday situations. Nonetheless, the Bb team took the time to let others understand how each product can help stylists achieve the looks they see in the hair and beauty industry and at home.

Next, Collette continued by demonstrating how to blow dry a model with a flat brush. She discussed the vital techniques (and Bumble and bumble products) that should be used to ensure top results all round. This part of the workshop invited apprentices to start a general Q&A with the Bb team where they could see the products being used in action and how they could handle these little miracle-workers in the future. Trust us, they knew what they were doing!

Then, it was the turn of the apprentices. Each team member was asked to arrange for a model to come to the salon. Each model provided an opportunity for the trainee to merge their theoretical and practical skills into one stylish blowdry. Plus, the Bb team was on hand to dispel of any uncertainty that the younger members of the team had – they certainly were in good hands!

Despite some initial trepidation, it was clear that the apprentices began to grow in confidence and started to handle the products with ease. Considering some of them had never worked with this product line before and had only used Davines, for many, it pushed boundaries and encouraged these members of the team to be curious and engaged with Bumble and bumble products.
